Yavneh Grandparents Plant Seeds for the Future

Sunday September 22 brought perfect fall weather and Yavneh’s first grandparent and grandchild “Planting the Seeds” event in the Grow Torah garden. Over 150 grandparents and their first and second grade grandchildren immersed themselves in nature and spent quality time together. Everyone smelled and picked different besamim in the garden and found unique plants and flowers to create their very own pressed flower bookmarks for their machzorim. Farmers Yosef and Shimon shared their love of nature and all of Hashem’s bounty. While picking besamim in the garden, everyone was invited to taste fresh mint and tomatoes off the vine.

Upon arrival, Head of School Rabbi Jonathan Knapp warmly welcomed everyone, remarking on what a special opportunity this event was. The school is lucky to have so many involved, dedicated and supportive grandparents in the Yavneh family and look forward to the next event where we can again share the passion and investment in the students. Yavneh staff takes pride in nurturing and educating its students and is honored to partner in their growth and development into exemplary Torah Jews and Yavneh ambassadors, dedicated to Am Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael.
