Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Last week, during their grade advisory period, the 11th grade students participated in beautiful student-led chaburos. Students chose a particular topic of interest, learned it in depth on their own, and then shared the Torah with their classmates and friends. This round’s student leaders Sharon Zapata, Zoey Farkas, Devorah Ringer and Abby Schwartz decided to discuss the aspect of teshuva which involves recalling positive as well as negative deeds in order to build upon one’s own spiritual successes and accomplishments.

Chabura learning is only one aspect of advisory that brings Bruriah students together in a dynamic way by creating a transformative experience for students to learn Torah lishma as well as strengthen their leadership skills, both of which comprise aspects of Bruriah’s four core values of joyful learning, meaningful relationships, personal growth and self-confidence. Junior Shoshana Pinsker shared, “Hearing inspirational words of Torah from our own classmates was very powerful and gave us a tremendous boost as we head into Rosh Hashanah.”
