In celebration of spring, LPS preschoolers read the story of a hungry caterpillar who spun a chrysalis and became a beautiful butterfly. The youngsters reenacted the metamorphosis by pretending to be creepy crawly caterpillars and then flew here and there in the air as beautiful, colorful, carefree butterflies. Each class cared for real caterpillars and made daily observations of the metamorphosis. Once the butterflies emerged from their cocoons, the children said farewell to the butterflies and set them free.
