Coming soon to Westchester: JExpress will be opening a second location at 733 White Plains Road in Scarsdale. JExpress states that “their artisanal pizza is crafted from top quality ingredients and baked at the perfect temperature for the exact amount of time necessary to make the best pizza in the county. Not too long, not too short. Just right.”
Gabriel Rosenfeld, Owner of JExpress, explained: “When I opened my first place in Englewood, in January 2021, I set out to start with a concept that is built from the start for multi location purposes. Before I even opened, the idea was to have multiple locations of the same place.
“I am finally moving forward, and after about a year of searching different communities, the majority of people were saying that in terms of places that don’t have enough or need something, the Westchester area was definitely up there. When this place came up … I met with the broker the next day and got a contract signed within a week.”
The Scarsdale location will have a similar menu to the Englewood location, serving pizza, pasta and munchies. The current Englewood menu offers pies in three sizes: 10 inches, 14 inches and 18 inches. Customers can select from regular crust, whole wheat, garlic bread crust, and even gluten-free and vegan options. Their choice of sauces includes regular, vodka, pesto and crushed tomato basil. For the DIY pizzas, customers can choose from a list of popular toppings. The menu also offers different specialty pies.
The store is planning to be open till 8 p.m. weeknights and also re-open Motzei Shabbos. The hashgacha will be the Vaad the Queens and will be cholov Yisroel and pas Yisroel. The model of the store is designed for takeout and delivery. JExpress will have their own in-house delivery service. The store will have limited seating available. Rosenfeld explained that ordering is easily done through our website or app, with loyalty points and rewards. “If we’re open, we have delivery available.” The store will deliver to White Plains, New Rochelle and Scarsdale.
Since the buzz has spread about the opening of this new site, JExpress has seen many new followers on Instagram. “One post of ‘coming soon’ has sparked positive feedback and a lot of excitement. You know, people are saying things like: ‘Oh my God, that’s genius’ and ‘The neighborhood needs something like that.’”
White Plains resident and foodie influencer Cheryl Gold (@westchesterweatherfoodqueen) noted, “It’s important to have a good pizza store in every Jewish community. Almost as important as a mikvah which, b’H, all of the local communities now have. JExpress will give our community more options. A pizza store in Scarsdale will add to all the new and existing restaurants now open in Lower Westchester. I can’t wait to check it out.”
The Feuer family of New Rochelle is very excited for JExpress to open. Sixth-grader Ari said, “There can never be enough kosher pizza stores for me!” Fifth-grader Leora added, “I am so excited for it to open, The more pizza the better!” Mimi, also in fifth grade, stated, “As long as there are mushrooms, then I am sure it will be good.”
