Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

RPRY eighth graders participated in RPRY’s annual sukkah- building project at the Chaim V’Chesed Bikur Cholim house in New Brunswick, located directly across the street from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Every year, RPRY students build the sukkah, create and hang decorations and disassemble the sukkah at this very special location where family members of those in the hospital are provided with a place to sleep, kosher meals, Shabbos accommodations, and a place to simply relax and feel at home as they deal with challenging situations. Students are amazed each year to tour the chesed house and see how chesed can be performed with attention to every possible detail and need. By participating, students not only learn about chesed; they become a part of the chesed by allowing visitors of the house to enjoy the simcha of the Yom Tov of Sukkos even while away from home. Students’ participation in this special mitzvah will have a lasting impact on them and will encourage many years of future chesed.
