The Rav Teitz Mesivta Academy takes its motto, “Above the Code,” very seriously and applies it to every aspect of the RTMA experience. After four years of hard work, the graduating senior class traveled together to Orlando, Florida for three sun-filled days of camaraderie and adventure, which some have dubbed, “the trip of a lifetime.”
“The senior trip is an unbelievable opportunity for our boys to come together, as a group, one last time, in this most special and unique way,” said RTMA Principal Rabbi Ami Neuman, who accompanied the young men on the trip. “The support they gave each other during scuba diving, the encouragement and camaraderie, is a perfect and fitting culmination of an incredible life-changing four years.”
On day one, the guys enjoyed jet skiing, volleyball on a private beach, water tubing and late-night bowling. The second day included a day trip down to Pompano Beach for scuba diving in the Atlantic Ocean. At 30 feet underwater, students learned how to dive and, in characteristic RTMA fashion, supported and encouraged one another during the exciting, yet challenging exercise.
In the evening, students were joined for dinner by Rabbi Neuman and Rabbi Yisroel Rich, RTMA’s director of student life, and, together, they went around the room sharing their favorite and most memorable recollections from their time at RTMA.
On the final day, the group enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Universal Studios.
“Everywhere they went,” said Rabbi Neuman, “the boys made a tremendous kiddush Hashem—from davening in the airports to their courteous and well-mannered behavior, they made RTMA proud at every spot. These memories will last a lifetime.”
