Yavneh STEM Class Creates Bubble Wands

Yavneh Academy’s fifth grade STEM class delved into the engineering design process by creating their own bubble wands. Using TinkerCAD, a computer-aided design (CAD) program, they designed and 3D printed functional wands with unique handles. The challenge was to craft a bubble wand capable of blowing bubbles in new shapes, encouraging students to think critically and use their imagination as they progressed through each stage of the engineering design process.

They began by sketching their ideas on paper, then brought them to life in TinkerCAD, creating 3D files to send to the printer. Once their wands were printed, the students tested them outside, recorded observations and brainstormed ways to enhance their designs. Up next, students will vacuum form a 3D-printed creation into a mold. The students love engineering and 3D printing at Yavneh!
