Vote Levy, Schwartz and Orgen

With great pleasure I note that Jenni Levy is a candidate for the Board of Education.

I have known her since she was a very young lady, and she has always been distinguished by superb qualities that suit her well for such a position.

More than anything else, education serves as a transformative force, essential for the young, but useful at all stages of life.

When she was young, Jenni was indispensable in the lives of many younger charges, educating them in the intricacies of Jewish practice and feeling. She helped them to transform themselves while continuing to respect and value those in their families who did not make the same journey.

Moving into more mature adult life, in her capacity as an educational administrator she established a framework for others, often not as naturally gifted as she, to achieve similar results.

Now she offers to the community of Teaneck, a woman at the summit of her professional powers who can move beyond direct supervision to building a structure which restores to the center education’s true purpose: a self-transformation which deepens one’s respect and appreciation for all: something which we definitely want to return to Teaneck.

While recognizing the promise of new candidates, we should not forget those who have come before. In that respect. Mark (Mendy) Schwartz and Karen Lew Orgen, running for reelection to the Town Council, deserve our votes and support as well. We are all deeply indebted to them for their service.

So please, make sure that you vote for Levy, Schwartz and Orgen. As we have learned in the past year, the longtime speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives had an important point when he said, “All politics is local.”
