15,000 Lines of Tanya Are Learned by 163 Students

As part of the Bat Sheva Mitzvah campaign, talmidim of United Lubavitcher Yeshiva were recognized for their countless hours of learning Tanya Ba’al Peh this year.

For well over a decade, Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky, executive director, and Mrs. Shterney Kanelsky, associate director, Bris Avrohom, Hillside, have been encouraging extra learning and mitzvahs to be done in honor of their infant daughter, Bas Sheva, obm, who passed away in 2003. In her memory, they have sponsored various projects. One of those projects is to have the talmidim of the yeshivos study Tanya Ba’al Peh.

Once again this year, Rabbi and Mrs. Kanelsky came to United Lubavitcher Yeshiva to award all those who participated in this wonderful mivtzah with certificates and awards. Over 10,000 lines of Tanya were accumulated and over 150 students received awards.

Rabbi Kanelsky inspired the boys by sharing with them his personal story of when the rebbe tested him in Yechidus on Tanya Ba’al Peh when he was 9 years old.

Rabbi Simpson addressed the audience with warm words and the boys listened attentively as he explained the importance and impact the holy words of Torah have.
