Mrs. Kagel’s seventh-grade girls had to engineer paper roller coasters. The students were placed in pairs and given a variety of roller coaster parts made out of card stock such as loops, curves and funnels. They were then asked to plan out a design using just the roller coaster parts and scotch tape. Each coaster was taped to a piece of cardboard, and when completed, needed to be able to transport a marble from top to bottom. Their creations were so inventive that they were put on display in the school lobby.
