This year, 260 runners from Shalva, based in Jerusalem, traveled from across Israel to participate in the NYC Marathon, forming the largest team from outside the U.S. Shalva has a profound mission of bringing life-changing support to thousands of children with disabilities, empowering their families, and fostering social inclusion. Many of this year’s runners have served as IDF reserve soldiers, with over 40 having spent months in service. With every step, the Shalva runners raised the Israeli flag in honor of those who cannot, in gratitude for the safety of our soldiers, and in prayers for the safe return of the hostages.
