Bruriah Freshmen Embark on Chesed Trip

Last week, the Bruriah freshmen kicked off the start of four years of meaningful chesed programming at Bruriah. Throughout their time at Bruriah, they are encouraged to discover impactful ways to give back to their communities. What better way to begin this journey than with a hands-on chesed experience?

They began the day at Daughters of Miriam Senior Home which is home to over 100 senior residents. The students were welcomed by Rabbi Moshe Mirsky, the director of Religious Services, who explained to the students ways that they can enhance their visit and positively impact the senior residents. Taking his words to heart, they spent the morning with the residents, conversing with them and even organizing a spontaneous and inspiring choir together with the residents. Afterwards, they headed to Passaic for a stop at Yad Leah. There they helped package over 1000 pieces of clothing to be shipped off to Israel, recognizing the value that they can have collectively to contribute to the klal.

It was a day full of meaningful chesed setting the tone for the years ahead.
