TABC’s basketball teams traveled to the city on a rainy Thursday night to battle the Heschel Heat. Both the JV and varsity squads were looking to continue their winning starts to the season and go 3-0.
First up was JV. After being tied through one quarter, they were able to gain a 14-point lead by halftime. In the second half, tight defense by the team limited Heschel to only eight points in the entire half. The return of big man Yehuda Schur ‘27 to the lineup contributed to that strong defensive effort. The Storm won by a final score of 71-21. Leading the way was freshman Ezra Adams with 14 points.
The varsity followed and won 57-39. Up by only five after the first quarter, the Storm were able to build a little cushion at halftime with dominant play from senior Eyal Kinderlehrer in the second quarter. Coach Oz elected to go with his juniors for the majority of the second half and TABC were able to pull away for good through terrific 3-point shooting from Yonatan Faber ‘26 and fantastic all-around play from Akiva Borgen ‘26. The junior duo carried with 13 and 16 points, respectively.
