Pine Valley Celebrates Grand Opening of Pavilion Assisted Living Facility

The Pavilion at Pine Valley celebrated the grand opening of its premier assisted living facility with a “Casino Night on the Town” event last Wednesday evening. Discharge planners from nursing facilities throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut attended the gala and toured the facility. They were treated to a lavish buffet, live entertainment, open bar, prizes and casino games.

“The Pavilion looks more like a hotel than an assisted living!” said one discharge planner. “I’m spellbound by the picturesque setting with gardens and a gorgeous pond and fountain for residents to enjoy.”

Those in attendance for the grand opening were enthralled by the luxuriously appointed residences, lounges and lobby. They were also impressed by the modern amenities offered in the residences, including remote flat-screen televisions, wireless internet access and personal telephones.

“Our experienced and caring certified Home Health Aides care for each and every resident as though they were their own family member,” said Yehuda Serle, administrator of both the Pavilion and Pine Valley Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. “We are committed to providing our clientele with the same warmth and care.”

Another case manager said, “If it has the same excellent reputation as the skilled nursing facility and rehab at Pine Valley, then I am confident that anyone we refer here will be very happy at the Pavilion.”

The Pine Valley Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is rated as being one of the top nursing homes in the country. The Pavilion accepts private pay as well as Medicaid. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services awarded the facility a five-star rating. “This is a great honor and is a reflection of the organization’s commitment to providing every resident with the highest level of care and compassion,” Mr. Serle said.

After the tour, Alicia Boykin, director of therapeutic recreation, addressed the crowd. “Our recreational staff members work closely with our residents to develop an exciting calendar full of events that are socially enriching. These daily activities promote creativity and social interaction among participants.” These activities include stimulating indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, jewelry making, food decorating, day outings to points of interest, shopping and restaurants, as well as birthday celebrations and holiday and special occasion events.

The Pavilion provides religious support and services for residents of all faiths. It has an on-site synagogue under the leadership of Rabbi Yaakov Greenburg. All meals served at the Pavilion are kosher, supervised by Kashrus of New Square with a mashgiach temidi on site, ensuring that the strictest kosher standards are adhered to at all times, including the Passover season.

The Pavilion offers restaurant-style dining with a truly luxurious ambience. Residents may choose to enjoy their gourmet cuisine in the cheerful atmosphere of the dining hall or in the privacy of their own suite.

Situated adjacent to the prestigious Pine Valley Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, the Pavilion offers easy, on-site access to premier state-of-the-art therapy staffed by top-rated therapists. Residents requiring subacute therapy services, including cardiac rehab, will have access to the care they need on an outpatient basis without the inconvenience of traveling to an off-site facility.

Medical care is provided as well, including podiatry and dental services and on-site eye exams. For those residents who require off-site healthcare services, the Pavilion provides transportation to medical appointments.

Pine Valley takes security very seriously and has many precautions in place for the protection and well-being of its residents and guests. This includes an emergency call-bell system, which is present in every suite and lavatory. Other security measures include a state-of-the-art fire safety system, building-wide sprinkler system and video-camera monitoring throughout the facility that covers every exit as well as the parking lot.

The Pavilion’s Casino Night was an evening to be remembered by all who attended and a truly grand opening for the beautiful assisted living facility.
