(Courtesy of Project Ezrah) This past week, Project Ezrah held a seminar for local job seekers. The group gathered on Zoom for an insightful and dynamic workshop led by workforce expert Jaide Massin, an ICF certified coach and founder of SoarExcutive.com. Prior to the event, Jeff Mendelson, director of employment at Project Ezrah, and Massin met at Lazy Bean to strategize on the planning and direction for the seminar. The event provided practical tools and strategies to help participants get more from their job search in today’s competitive market.

The workshop, attended by individuals at various career stages, from recent graduates to mid-career professionals, focused on improving job search techniques, enhancing personal branding and mastering networking. Massin, known for her engaging and results-driven approach, kicked off the session by emphasizing that job hunting is about more than just applying for positions, it’s about each person telling their unique story.

“Your resume is not just a list of jobs. It’s a way to communicate who you are and the value you can bring to an employer,” Massin said. She led participants through an exercise to help them reframe their resumes and LinkedIn profiles, turning static documents into powerful tools that highlight strengths and career goals.

A key focus of the workshop was leveraging job search activities to produce more results — a critical component of today’s job market. With many job opportunities found through connections rather than traditional applications, Massin shared strategies for building and leveraging a professional network. Participants were encouraged to actively engage with industry leaders and peers.

“I never realized how important networking really is,” said Sarah, a recent college graduate. “Jaide’s tips on expanding my network made me feel more confident about reaching out to people in my field,” she added.

Massin explained how participants could position themselves for success in these fields, whether through upskilling, certifications or targeted job searches and highlighted this through her book “You Bring You.” She had a book launch on Thursday, Dec. 5.

By the end of the day, attendees left feeling more empowered and prepared to take the next step in their job search. “This workshop gave me the confidence and tools to keep moving forward,” said another participant. Stay tuned for more details on future events by Project Ezrah at www.ezrah.org.
