Ariella Applebaum and Eli Gartenberg Grew Up as Neighbors and Became Husband and Wife

Ariella Applebaum and Eli Gartenberg were married August 10, 2017, at Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle, New York. Rabbi Aharon Ciment was mesader kiddushin.

Ariella is the daughter of Eric Applebaum of Teaneck and West Orange in New Jersey, and Sandra Applebaum of Teaneck. She is a graduate of the Moriah School of Englewood, Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School for Girls and Stern College. She is beginning her first year as a medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Eli Gartenberg, son of Michael and Miriam Gartenberg of Teaneck, is a graduate of the Moriah School, Torah Academy of Bergen County and Yeshiva University. He is the social media and marketing manager at OHEL.

Ariella and Eli grew up near each other and their families were close. They reconnected through friends while in college and became a couple.

“I had so much fun at my wedding and appreciate everything my friends and family did,” said Ariella. She wore a handmade vintage lace drop-waist gown and danced to music of the Neshama Band, directed by Jordan Hirsch, with Mordechai Shapiro as the lead singer. Gold Flowers “did an amazing job,” Ariella said. “The chuppah was beautiful and exceeded my expectations.” Although she had little time to eat, she said the food, from Five Star Caterers, was excellent. In addition to photography and videography by Jerry Meyer studios, photojournalist Sol Neelman captured the event with his unique perspective. “I could not imagine anything more, and I am so happy,” the bride said. “Everything worked out, especially the weather!”

The couple is living on the Einstein campus.
