Ariella Selt and David Lutz have announced their engagement. Ariella is the daughter of Randee Selt of Englewood, New Jersey, and Robert Selt of Florida. She is a human resources administrator for Collabera, in New Jersey. She is a graduate of The Moriah School and The Frisch School and earned a BA from Rutgers University in human resources.

David is the son of Steven and Brindy Lutz of Brooklyn. He has just completed a BS degree in physician assistant studies from the Downstate Physician Assistant school. He also holds a BS degree from Brooklyn College in psychology.

Ariella was expecting to spend a day at the zoo with David, and he suggested they stop for breakfast first. They went to Tenafly, and began to walk toward a bench across the street from the restaurant Tavlin. “That’s where we had our second date and talked for hours; we knew then we were meant to be,” Ariella explained. At the time, she was thinking about the fun they would have at the zoo, and didn’t realize that the hearts and stuffed pandas on the bench were meant for her. Then, on one knee, David proposed, their friends burst upon the scene and the couple was engaged.

Ariella and David met through friends. They are now planning a January wedding.
