Yad Leah Hosts SAR Family Kehilla Day

(Courtesy of Yad Leah) SAR’s Kehilla Initiative recently hosted a family day at the Yad Leah Volunteer Center in Passaic, bringing together participants of all ages, from Early Learning Center children to grandparents.

“Yad Leah was an engaging, enriching, interactive and fun experience for all of the volunteers,” shared Michelle Waldman Sarna, SAR middle school psychologist. “The families valued the chance to learn about Yad Leah’s inspiring and far-reaching impact. It’s a powerful reminder that simple actions can create meaningful and lasting change.”

The Kehilla Initiative is a unique program that engages eighth graders in learning, action and teaching about ways to address the suffering and vulnerabilities within their communities and beyond.

In preparation for the visit, SAR families organized a clothing drive, collecting items the week before the trip. At the volunteer center, they had the opportunity to sort and organize their own donations, transforming them into meaningful contributions for communities in Eretz
Yisroel.
