TABC History Classes Visit NYC Museums

On Tuesday, December 10, Liam Machlin’s and Shoshana Schultz’s sophomore history classes embarked on an exciting educational journey to Federal Hall and the National Museum of the American Indian in New York City. At Federal Hall, located on Wall Street, students had the unique opportunity to step back in time and immerse themselves in the birthplace of American democracy, where Congress first met and drafted the Bill of Rights. The students explored the historic building where George Washington took the oath of office as the first president of the United States and learned about the significance of this iconic landmark in shaping the nation’s history. The day continued at the National Museum of the American Indian, located in the historic Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House, where students delved into the vibrant cultures, traditions and contributions of Native peoples across the Americas. From intricate artifacts and captivating exhibits to interactive displays and immersive experiences, students gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous communities. Throughout the day, the students were engaged, curious and eager to learn, making the experience both educational and memorable.
