On Thursday, December 12, SAR High School students, faculty and the community came together for its second annual Chesed Night, an inspiring evening dedicated to acts of kindness and raising money for various organizations. Hundreds of participants filled the school, united by the shared value of chesed and the belief that small actions can create meaningful change.
The night was packed with energy and excitement, featuring a variety of activities for everyone to get involved in. A lively 3×3 basketball tournament raised funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, while a Yachad event brought people together for inclusion and connection. Students baked delicious treats with Cookies for a Cause, packed Chanukah goodie bags to send joy to children in Israel, and participated in many more impactful chesed projects. The evening was a perfect reminder of how SAR students channel creativity, compassion and teamwork into making a tangible difference—and have fun while doing it.
“Chesed Night is such an amazing reminder that kindness is at the heart of everything we do at SAR,” said Oriyan W., one of the Chesed Council presidents. Co-president Ethan V. added, “When we come together as a school, it’s incredible to see how much we can accomplish.”
Through Chesed Night, SAR continues to inspire students to lead with empathy, turning small sparks of kindness into a brighter world for all.
