RKYHS juniors and seniors headed out on Shabbat for a memorable shabbaton together with their classmates and faculty. A unifying Kabbalat Shabbat started off the meaningful Shabbat, followed by a delicious dinner. Students then enjoyed a round-robin learning program where they heard from different faculty members and students on the topic of “Mission Possible: Meeting the Moment.” Afterwards, each grade came together for their own grade games and grade bonding. All the grades then joined in spirited singing afterwards for an RKYHS school-wide tish, followed by additional shiurim. A Q&A with faculty members rounded out the Friday night activities.
After Shabbat morning davening, a plentiful kiddush and learning sessions on the topic of “Today and Tomorrow: Living My Mission Authentically” the students gathered for lunch and shiurim. After free time and relishing the last moments of Shabbat with a beautiful Kushner kumzitz, everyone joined as one for an incredibly moving Havdala followed by spirited dancing and singing!
The shabbaton was capped off with a trip to Urban Air and melave malka. Seniors were able to spend additional time together as they returned for an additional night, relishing their last shabbaton!
