JEC LS Marks Third Annual Rashi Breakfast

The JEC Lower School marked its third annual Rashi breakfast for third grade students and their parents, celebrating the momentous occasion of the beginning of their mefarshim journey with a meaningful program. The students learned a Rashi on this week’s parsha with their parents, decorated a bookmark with Rashi script, played Rashi letter games and ate a delicious breakfast. The children received beautiful personalized headbands and kippot with their names written in Rashi script designed by Morah Shira Raymond (@shirasimpressivedesigns) as a special giveaway. The students and their families heard words of inspiration from Rabbi Beer and Morah Reich. Each child brought home a personalized Rashi pouch, complete with Rashi games, a learning packet and a Rashi stencil. This year’s learning was dedicated in the merit of the safety of our brothers and sisters in Israel and around the world. The message students learned from Parshas Vayishlach was about the importance of making a Kiddush Hashem and being a proud Jew. The powerful message of Jewish pride is as relevant as ever in today’s times.
