(yumacs.com) The Yeshiva University women’s tennis team earned a Skyline win over Mount Saint Mary College, 9-0, on the Mount Saint Mary tennis courts on Wednesday evening. Yeshiva bumps its record to 4-1 overall, and 4-0 in Skyline play.
Senior Shani Hava cruised to a number one singles win, 6-2, 6-2. She teamed with junior Rebecca Packer to win the first doubles position, 8-4. Hava has won all four singles and all four doubles matches she has competed in up to this point, all in the number one position. Packer came back to win at number three singles, 6-3, 6-0.
Senior Adele Lerner earned a hard-fought win at number two singles. She split the first two sets with her opponent (6-1, 1-6) and then won the tiebreaker, 12-10. She teamed with sophomore Bailey Frohlich and won a close number two doubles match, 9-7. Frohlich earned a dominating win at number five singles, 6-0, 6-2.
Senior Rachel Slater and classmate Andrea Weiss cruised to a win at number three doubles, 8-0. The former won at number four singles, 6-2, 6-1, and the latter won the sixth singles position, 6-2, 6-1.
