Middle school girls from Bnos Aliya were thrilled to host and participate in the CIJE VEX IQ Robotics Tournament on Thursday, joining over 150 students from girls’ schools across the region. The event, held in the elegant WSIS Gala Ballroom, was charged with energy and enthusiasm as students showcased their engineering and programming skills.
Each team arrived ready to compete, with tables neatly arranged and adorned with team names and titles. The ballroom was transformed into a hub of innovation, divided into four tournament areas where teams faced off in a series of four games at a time.
The tournament featured a total of nine action-packed games, each scored meticulously as students tested their robots’ precision, agility, and problem-solving capabilities. The competition was fierce, with scores constantly shifting and the leaderboard evolving throughout the day.
Bnos Aliya’s teams shone brightly, with one team—featuring a robot designed and built by Perry Itkin and Jenny Schwartz—achieving an exceptional milestone. After advancing to the finals and competing in several additional rounds, their team secured an impressive 7th place out of 43.
This remarkable accomplishment reflects the hard work, creativity and determination of the Bnos Aliya students.
