Freshmen English students presented their mock “Mice Trials” this week, whereby they put one of the characters from “Of Mice and Men” on trial. Students played roles of lawyers, witnesses, jurors; there was even “Judge Judy” Frey and a court sketch artist. Before the trial, the students had worked for days finding textual evidence from the novel to support their side of the argument and learned the basics of a trial. Most of all, they were extremely engaged throughout the process and had fun while learning.
