Frisch Students Forge New Friendships at Freshman Retreat

Frisch ninth graders got to experience an inspiring and exhilarating freshman retreat from October 19 to 22, Shabbat parshat Noach. The program was packed with fun activities, sessions, shiurim, tisches and discussions about how to succeed, thrive and make the most of their time in high school. Most importantly, the retreat was an opportunity for the new high schoolers to make friends among their classmates. Every ‘free time’ slot in the schedule began with a short speech about meeting new people. “They may have all gone to different elementary schools, but those differences all melt away; they are all part of the Frisch family,” said Frisch Assistant Principal Rabbi David Goldfischer.

“The whole essence of the retreat is introducing the freshmen to the culture of the school,” said Goldfischer. “They learn what it’s like to be part of the Frisch community and about the values of the school—our culture of kindness, religious growth, intellectual inquiry and the pursuit of passion. From the funny skits to the more serious shiurim, every part of the programming is designed to bring those lessons home.”
