Moriah Students Conduct Parshat Noach Experiments

In honor of parshat Noach the kindergarten children at Moriah conducted a float and sink experiment using a piece of aluminum foil and a penny. They hypothesized if these items would sink or float. After discovering that foil floats and pennies sink, they wondered what would happen to the foil when we placed a penny on it. The students predicted how many pennies it would take until the foil sank. They then tested and counted three pennies to sink the foil. After much fun experimenting, they decided to make the foil into the shape of a teiva. The children made predictions of how many pennies it would take to sink the foil boat. Each child had a turn placing a penny in the boat. They counted with much excitement and discovered it took 15 pennies to sink the boat they built!
