The entire community is invited to a grand siyum sefer Torah ceremony on Sunday, Cheshvan 9, October 29. The Torah is being dedicated by the Neubort family for the refuah shleima of Rivka bas Ra-chel and Chaim Dovber ben Rivka. The program will begin with the final letter-writing and children’s activities at the original building of Anshei Lubavitch, 8-09 Plaza Rd., from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and will culminate in a joyous procession with much fanfare to the main building across the street at 12:30 p.m., where hakafot, dancing and refreshments will follow.
A siyum Sefer Torah is a momentous occasion, not only for the congregation who will own the Torah but for the entire city that is home to the congregation. Joining the festivities and parading the Torah through the streets imparts an important message of veneration and commitment to the Torah and is a valuable display of Jewish unity and pride. We would be honored for you to join us this Sunday.
