The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize James Ladenheim as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The Yeshivat Noam third grader excels in all of the Bergen County leagues including TABC Jr Hockey, Bergen County Flag Football, Bergen Broncos, MGBL and BBO. He has earned recognition as a BCFL Champion, BCFL Pro-Bowl selection and travel baseball player. When asked about James, his father and BCFL coach Brian Ladenheim told the Jewish Link, “James is very competitive but always makes sure to be respectful of his coaches, teammates, referees and the opposing team. He tries hard not to gloat during a win or get too upset after a loss. He knows it’s more important to try your best and no matter the outcome it’s just a game and there’s more important things in life!” BCFL commissioner Steve Gutlove added “James is a difference maker both on and off the field. He is a tremendous quarterback, combining a high football IQ, the ability to see the whole field and a strong throwing arm. At his age a team is lucky if their QB has one of the skills above but all three are almost unheard of. This past season James was recovering from injury and unable to play quarterback, instead he put up league leading numbers as one of the division’s top receivers, leading the Humble Toast Jaguars in receptions and touchdowns. However, what impressed me the most about James is his off the field behavior, when not playing he can be found cheering on his teammates, studying the game and trying to help others. Congratulations James!”
