Ma’ayanot Freshman Art Students Master the Basics Of One-Point Perspective

Our freshman art elective class is starting off the second semester with a new perspective: one-point perspective. Over the past few classes the freshman artists have been learning the basics of one-point perspective and have completed exercises utilizing vanishing points, horizon lines and lines of convergence. Now, with a keen artist’s eye, they will be able to identify one-point perspective in their daily life and photograph it. In class they will begin to translate their photos to paper using graphite. Through this project the students will learn how to draw precise angles and create an illusion of depth and distance in their artwork.
