Ben Porat Yosef kicked off its annual Matan Bat Mitzvah Program this past motzei Shabbat on October 28. Sixth grade girls began preparing for reaching gil mitzvot by participating in learning and a special activity, along with their mothers. The class was led by BPY teacher, Morah Shani.

The group learned about Rivka, discussed her special middot and personality traits and then decorated candles to symbolize the light of continuation of the chain that began with Sarah, linked to Rivka and continues through the generations to all Jewish girls and women.
