The most recent initiative in the year-long JEC culture of kindness theme has gone viral! At the beginning of the school year, each teacher set the classroom tone by reading “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” by Carol McCloud. This book explains how doing acts of kindness makes everyone feel good, both the givers and recipients of the kindness.

Now, the school has launched the #JECbucketfillingchallenge! JEC Lower School students know that being a #bucketfiller, showing kindness and respect to others, applies at home too. Parents are sharing their children’s acts of kindness via photo and video, and spreading the word on social media. This campaign has already spread beyond the tri-state area!
