Elkana Bohbot (Elkana ben Ruchama), 36, an Israeli citizen, was kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. He was seen shortly thereafter in a video, bound and bleeding and being abducted in a truck by Hamas terrorists. He has not been heard from or seen since. He had gone to the festival with friends and stayed to help evacuate the wounded before attempting to save himself. “We don’t know if he will live or die,” said his brother, Uriel Bohbot.

Elkana is married to Rivka Bohbot (Rebecca Gonzales de Bohbot), an immigrant to Israel from Colombia, and the couple has one child, Reem, 4. Colombian President Gustavo Petro and Acting Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo met with Rivka and granted Colombian citizenship to Elkana to help facilitate his release.
