Across JKHA and RKYHS the school celebrated the release of more hostages. Among them was Agam Berger, who according to reports has been braiding the hair of girls in captivity. The braids have become a symbol of strength, love and resilience.
Last Thursday, JKHA/RKYHS joined a movement of celebration and support across the world in braiding girls’ hair, tied with a yellow ribbon to call for the return of the remainder of the hostages. Older students braided younger students’ hair, and faculty and administration joined in in the wearing and making of braids as the school came together to join this act of solidarity and commitment. As all of the many braided heads, adorned with yellow ribbons gathered in unison in the gym, one could feel the sentiment of unity and gratitude for all of the hostages who have been released to-date, alongside the hope and longing for the safety and return of all the remaining hostages.
