For Holocaust Remembrance Day, a group of Ramaz eighth graders went to the Italian Consulate, where they read the names of those killed in the Holocaust. On the trip, they met a great-cousin of one of the students, who is a 101-year-old survivor. The students stood in front of the building entrance and spoke into microphones, so all passing by could hear as they projected loudly and clearly. They read alongside a priest from the United Nations, who spoke to them about being proud to be Jewish and the importance of peace in the world.
