Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Kinderlach at Gan Aliya are exploring the wonders of the solar system as part of their Cultural and Science Unit on Space. Throughout the classroom, students engage in hands-on activities designed to deepen their understanding of the planets and outer space.

Each area of the classroom is equipped with space-themed works that integrate various learning domains. Using nomenclature cards, children sorted the planets by name in the language area, while in practical life, they had the opportunity to polish and clean a space helmet. Sensorial activities encouraged them to explore the different sizes and shapes of planets, making learning both interactive and engaging.

In addition to learning about the planets, the children are focusing on Earth—the planet we call home. They are discovering that Hashem created the world and everything in it, emphasizing the beauty and purpose of our surroundings. In preparation for Tu B’Shevat, the kinderlach are also learning about different trees and the foods that grow from them, along with the bracha rishona and bracha acharona we say on each one.
