The students and faculty at TABC were privileged to hear an address from Rabbi Dov Lipman, esteemed former member of the Israeli Knesset. Rabbi Lipman described his experiences in the Knesset beginning with several whimsical stories, such as bringing Yankee reliever Mariano Rivera to Israel, passing a law to help facilitate training seeing eye dogs and even breaking the tension in a Knesset debate by showing a catch by Odell Beckham Jr. He shifted to a poignant description of the funeral of a lone soldier that was attended by 30,000 Israelis who had never even met him. Rabbi Lipman exhorted the students to care about Israel, do what they can to spend time there and to act as its “ambassadors” in America.
