The JEC Middle School’s leadership curriculum is multidimensional, ranging from Friday schmoozes where the students discuss parsha topics connected to leadership with their principal, Rabbi Uzi Beer, to interactive programming. Recently, the students learned about followership as part of leadership. To bring this idea home, groups of students participated in three team building activities, in which they further developed their skills in communication, cooperation and overall sportsmanship. Their encouragement of each other gave a special energy to the experience.
The following week, the Middle School community ventured to the skating rink in Woodbridge, where the kids had a blast skating, playing arcade games, hanging out and eating pizza. Rabbi Beer reflected, “It was such a beautiful sight to see the boys come together as one cohesive unit.”
