All around the area, middle school students performed acts of chesed during the week of Chanukah. Seventh graders brought Chanukah happiness to the residents at Daughters of Israel. The students chatted, played games and sang songs with the residents. The eighth graders visited the Food Bank of New Jersey to package food boxes for the needy. Sixth graders packed Shabbat Kits that will be distributed to Jewish residents of area hospitals, who have hospital stays over Shabbat, that include everything they need to fulfill the mitzvot on Shabbat.
