In a collaboration between Bruriah’s Guidance Department and Senior Seminar Program, Bruriah Seniors had the opportunity to hear from Sara Schreiber, LCSW, the practice owner and therapist at Collaborative Minds Psychotherapy LLC.
Mrs. Schreiber led group discussions where the students had the opportunity to express how they were feeling moving on from high school and onto the next phase of their lives. “The group discussions made me feel comforted in knowing that we all feel the same way,” shared Senior Becca Gruenebaum.
In response to the concerns that were raised, namely worries about roommate conflict and fears around making friends next year, Mrs. Schreiber introduced two skills and had the students practice using them with one another in a supportive role-play environment.
As part of Bruriah’s ongoing commitment to nurturing students’ social-emotional wellbeing, this workshop enabled the students to feel empowered and prepared as they move beyond high school.
