Lavy House in Westfield to Host Two Programs in February

On Tuesday, February 13, at 11:30 a.m., join Rutgers master gardeners for a program entitled “Making Your Own Terrarium.” This program is intended for seniors and their families and will be held at The Senior Resource Center at The Lavy House in Westfield. A light lunch will be served and kosher dietary laws will be observed. Registration is recommended at [email protected] or 908-352-8375.

On Tuesday, February 27, the Memory Café will be held at the Lavy House from noon to 2:00 p.m. The Memory Café program provides a casual time to enjoy lunch, social activities and entertainment for individuals with early to moderate Alzheimer’s Disease/dementia and their care partners. The event is free of charge. A light lunch will be served and kosher dietary laws will be observed. Registration is required as space is limited. The Senior Resource Center at The Lavy House is a joint venture between Jewish Family Service of Central NJ, Temple Emanu-El of Westfield and The Westfield United Fund. Through a grant from the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest, Jewish Family Service of Central NJ provides programming and the services of social worker Naomi Kreutzer, MSW, LCSW each Tuesday. Programs are free of charge and open to the entire community.

The Lavy House is located at 748 E. Broad Street, Westfield.
