The children at the Leonard and Syril Rubin Nursery School at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades did not let a snowy, rainy day dampen their spirits. Instead, they huddled together in their classroom to simmer up a friendship soup. Each child brought in a healthy ingredient from home that contributed to the greater whole—an important life lesson on how every contribution, great or small, matters. They took turns mixing the vegetables, remembering to add a dash of laughter and love, and then sat down to a warm treat that tasted yummy, like friendship!
