While in the midst of students wearing many different and creative types of hats all joined together for an elementary school wide reading of “Caps For Sale.” The students, fully engrossed in the book, never expected bickering administrators and then…color war! The school divided into four teams: Matanot L’Evyonim, Mishloach Manot, Mikrah Megilla and Mishteh, and competed in cheers, trivia, wacky races, see-run-build, stomp, banner, sportsmanship and more. Exuberant smiles reflected the energy of the red, orange, yellow and green teams.
It was a fun-filled day dedicated to enhancing teamwork and collaboration. Every student had an opportunity to shine, whether in trivia, art, sports, singing and overall chesed and midot.
Adding to the overall ruach, an anonymous supporter pledged money for every point earned throughout the events, to be donated towards tzedaka. Each student, whether on the winning team, arose victorious in being a catalyst of the mitzvah of tzedaka.
Thank you to the teachers and students that put their energy and time into making color war super special. It truly was a “Mishenichnas Adar Marbim B’Simcha.”
