On Friday February 16, the second-grade boys of RYNJ had a very special interview opportunity. In conjunction with their Social Studies unit on people who make/made a difference, the boys interviewed RYNJ Chairman of the Board Rabbi Yudi Rosenbaum and RYNJ President Glenn Pfeiffer.
The boys prepared interview cards in advance and took turns asking both of them their questions. The boys found out the school started in Union County in 1937 and moved to several locations before settling in River Edge; the president of RYNJ gets elected by a board and there are several vice presidents. Most important, they found out that the RYNJ president does not get to live in the White House. (This was disappointing to some.)
Students realized that a lot of hard work and time goes into running the school. Rabbi Rosenbaum and Pfeiffer answered each of the boy’s questions and afterwards the boys were excited to shake hands with these two great leaders.
