This past week marked the culmination of the Yavneh Academy fourth graders’ study of the 50 states. In preparing for their State Fair, each student was assigned a state to research. Then, using their information, the students created colorful and informative brochures designed to persuade others to visit that state. The in-depth study enabled the fourth graders to continue to work on the development of both their research and technology skills. On the evening of the State Fair, excited and proud students were joined by their friends and family members for an entertaining and instructional program. The program began with state themed songs performed by the students followed by a collation in which each of the fourth graders served up a special edible treat or beverage related to their state. Showcased at the collation were the brochures created by the students. Additionally, the children demonstrated their creative talents by exhibiting sneakers they designed using state inspired images. Kudos to the fourth graders on a job well done! This was an engaging and memorable experience for all.
