Color War at Ma’ayanot Celebrates 70 Years of Israel

Ma’ayanot celebrated Rosh Chodesh Adar with a two-day color war focusing on the theme of “70 Years of Building Our Home.” Each grade was assigned to a different group that has contributed to the building of Medinat Yisrael since 1948: Chayalim, Olim, Chalutzim and Bonim. Students incorporated these themes into competitions for original songs, Hebrew cheers, dances, skits, videos, banners and more. Each grade decorated hallways with their color and theme. Students also competed in an Apache race, sports competitions, chidon, Cake Wars and more. As a new addition, students on each team applied their STEAM skills to create a moving and illuminated monument revolving around their theme using either a motor or a light up component using multiple LEDs. Their creations, which included a moving tank and an airplane, were electrifying. All enjoyed an exciting, educational and unifying color war.
