RKYHS has instituted a new program for all ninth and tenth graders called Religious Guidance. All freshmen and sophomores meet a number of times over the school year with religious guidance faculty leaders Rabbi David Schlusselberg or Chaya Miriam Gerson to discuss ways for the students to set personal goals so that they are able to grow as Jews. Students are encouraged to choose any area of interest, with some choosing topics such as avoiding lashon hara, improving their davening or showing better respect for their parents. These meetings allow students to consider their developing identities, and they also provide them with an opportunity to further connect with their adviser.
