This week, the fifth graders showcased their learning from their capstone research project, The Legacy Project. Over the past year, the fifth grade students of JKHA have been studying a variety of civilizations from ancient history. Over the past month, students have embarked upon an academically rigorous research project designed hone students’ research, outlining, and writing skills. For the project, students worked intensely on researching historical personas, about whom they later wrote research papers. As a showcase of their work, students prepared and delivered speeches in role as their researched personas in front of family and friends. Dressed as their historical figures, students assumed the mantles of their ancient personas and taught the audience about their valued legacies.
