The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Teaneck Doghouse would like to recognize 13 year old Hannah Friedman as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The Yeshivat Noam eighth grader just completed an undefeated three years as a member of the Noam Knights basketball team, most recently winning her third consecutive championship. Hannah also plays MGBL and has won two championships with CMEK. She is also on the Noam soccer team. When asked about her star guard, Yeshivat Noam Coach Ariela Herman told the JLNJ, “Hannah has been such a pleasure to coach; she is a very hard working basketball player.”

Hannah, congrats on a third straight undefeated season. Who is your role model and why?

My parents and coaches for teaching me that it is important to be a good player on and off the court..

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

Tyrone “Muggsy” Bogues because he taught me that you could still be a good basketball player even if you are short.

What is your pregame routine?

I always stretch my arms behind my head and swing them back and forth in front of me to stretch.

What is your earliest sport memory?

When my brother and I would set up cones in the backyard and would make up drills to do around them.

What is your weirdest sports memory?

When I played in the Teaneck Soccer League and there were only two girls on the team and we both were named Hannah.

What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?

It shows me that hard work really does pay off.

The Teaneck Doghouse Sportstar of the Week will receive a $15 gift certificate to Teaneck Doghouse.
