RKYHS Student-Led Battle of the Bands Draws Hundreds of Attendees

This past Thursday was the eighth annual Battle of the Bands hosted at RKYHS. The entirely student-run event featured bands from RKYHS and from many other yeshivot in the tri-state area. The event was a fundraiser for Save a Child’s Heart, an organization that provides pediatric cardiac care for children in developing countries. It was a very social event, with approximately 500 people attending, from RKYHS and other schools, along with parents as well. Bands have been practicing for months to prepare for the big stage and were really excited to come and perform. With a student committee in charge of planning the program, it gave a chance for the kids to be hands-on and run the event. Each band played two songs to rousing cheers from the audience. The winner was selected at the end. It was a fun event to attend or perform in, and it was a huge success in fundraising for the worthy foundation. A special congratulations to the winning band, Exit 9, with RKYHS students David Wolkoff and Jordan Dyckman.
